I lived in a Manor house called Hill Aston, ( between, The Lea and Aston Crews. From 1943 - 1953. I went to school @ Aston Ingham. I would be very grateful for any info about the history Hill Aston.

The house was obtained during the war for the employees of the British Aeronautical Federation, in ... show moreLondon. The company moved to Mitcheldean. The house was divided ito 4 flats, (tho very little was changed)The four families that I remember most were: Parker, Elliot, Davies, and my own family, Robinson. I had two brothers Daniiel and Paul. As children we played mostly with Barbara Parker ( had 2 older brothers,David, and Ronnie who joined the Navy.) Barbara eventually emigrated to Australia. David Elliot was an only child, his father Don, had been in the RAF. His mother Olga was from Belgium. Dorothy Davies was an only child and moved, with her parents, to Mitcheldean. These are the children that I recall mostly. Hill Aston was a children's paradise. With a paddock, Orchard and Lawn and acres of grounds to play in. One outstanding memory is of the 'sudden' discovery of a very deep well in the 'Wash-house'that had been used by the servants when the house was owned by the gentry.I would be very happy to hear from anyone that knows anything about this house and/or the families mentioned above. Many thanks. Priscilla
