John Stafford 1841-1882

John Stafford is noted as being a chemist in 1881 census living at 1 High Street Ross.
Does anyone know if there was a chemist at 1 High Street, Ross & what was it called? I have found Thomas Matthews running a chemists at Man of Ross House from 1876, did he work with my great, great grandfather? John Stafford died 1882 but his widow Helen Stafford is mentioned in 1891 census as being a chemist in High Street Ross. Any information re the chemists where they practiced gratefully received.
